WONDERS1 2007, the second (and until now: last) European Science Festival, started on February 6 and ended on November 25, 2007.
This EU funded project was coordinated by EUSCEA, the European Science Events Association, with its 60 member organisations from 31 countries, together with EUN, the European Schoolnet, and EUSJA the European Union of Science Journalists’ Associations.

The main theme for this year was “LOOK CLOSER”in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the birthday of Carl Linneaus2, the founder of the biological naming system.
The core of the project was the “CAROUSEL of SCIENCE”, in which 31 CAROUSEL Partners from 25 countries exchanged their best science communication presentations.
A special programme for a "Group Dialogue Game called TALK3, based on the existing game DECIDE4, involved schools, science journalists and scientists with our partners EUN and EUSJA.
The LAUNCH Event took place in Berlin, Germany, on February 6, 2007.
The FINAL Event took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 22 to 25, 2007.
These places were chosen according to the EU presidency in this year.
First, EUSCEA has issued an official call for participation, asking all members and other organisations (who must become EUSCEA members in order to take part) to submit – until 8 January 2007 - their participation in WONDERS 2007.
The Project Management Team selected the organisations to take part in WONDERS 2007, and invited them to send representatives to the LAUNCH.
The project had certain organisation meetings. The Carousel was determined by the dates of the science festivals of the Partners. The complete TIMELINE can still be downloaded by clicking HERE.
Downloads: Here the Participation Form, the order of the "Carousel of Science", a map showing the cities ("headquarters") of the Carousel Partners and the CHECKLIST for the activities of the Carousel Partners.
