Executive Committee Members

  Jan RIISE, SE: President of EUSCEA, Jan has a university degree in Urban and Regional Planning (Geography) from the Göteborg University and has been working with science communciation projects since the early 80's. First as a "liason office" at the Chamber of Commerce, then through his own company Agadem AB, founded in 1990. Most important projects at the moment are two Centers at the University of Gothenburg; the Göteborg Center for Public Learning and Understanding of Science; and a new Centre for the Science of Wellbeing. He is also finishing the communication plan for an EU project on Research Infrastructures called ERID Watch. Jan is married to Maja and has a daughter Stella and a dog Nelly. They live in Onsala, by the sea outside Göteborg, Sweden.

Herbert MÜNDER, DE; Vice-president of EUSCEA. Herbert is married and has two boys. He and his family with two sons live in Cologne, but Herbert works at Wissenschaft-im-Dialog in Berlin.

Sheila DONEGAN, IE: Treasurer of EUSCEA. Sheila is head of CALMAST (Centre for the Advancement of Learning for Math, Science and Technology) in Waterford, Ireland.

Tiiu SILD, EE: Vice-treasurer of EUSCEA. Tiiu is head of the AHHAA Centre in Tartu, Estonia.

  Peter REBERNIK, AT: General Secretary of EUSCEA, coordinator of WONDERS (EUropean Science Festival 2006 and 2007), studied Electronics in Vienna, researched as an assistant professor, was president of the Association of Assistant Professors and organised the first Austrian Science Fair in 1978 in Salzburg. In Holland he worked for telephone exchanges, later heading a company selling PC systems. He became director of the Technical Museum Vienna and later of the private KunstHausWien. Since 1993, he has headed his company PHAROS for cultural & scientific projects for exhibitions and co-founded EUSCEA in 2001. He organised 5 time the "ScienceWeek @ Austria". His company also works as a transfer service for biomedical technology. Peter is married to Christa and they have two boys, Steve and Chris.

  Leonardo Alfonsi, IT: Vice-General Secretary of EUSCEA, organiser of the Perugian Science Festival and head of the non-profit company ONLUSPhysicist and science communicator, team member of Psiquadro science communication company. After the degree in Physics with a dissertation about Stochastic Resonance awarded by the University of Perugia, Leonardo Alfonsi spent a year at Techniquest science discovery centre in Cardiff - Wales, September 1999 through August 2000, combining work-experience in many aspects of communicating science to school children and the general public, with study for the MSc in Communicating Science awarded by the University of Glamorgan. Leonardo Alfonsi worked at the Infn (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) Press office from January 2001 to December 2002, during this period he attended the Master in Science Communication run by I.S.A.S., the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste. Since November 2002 Alfonsi has being collaborating with courses in Science Museology and Science Communication and he collaborated as consultant with museums and science centres among which Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali. Since July 2003 Leonardo Alfonsi has being working in the team who organises the Perugia Science Fest and from November 2004 he is the scientific director of the Festival.
